In partnership with the Lakes Region Community College, the Plymouth Area Renewable Energy Initiative are working on providing on-the-ground experience for students, contractors, homeowners and New Hampshire residents in the field of energy efficiency. The goal of the Efficiency Training Program is to coordinate Installer Trainings, Short Term Courses, Housewarmings, Field Experiences, a regional Energy Equipment Rental Program and Demos. As the "green job" movement makes headway across the country, the Plymouth area is working tirelessly to provide residents and businesses the necessary tools to invest in itself.
Installer Trainings
The Lakes Region Community College and Plymouth Area Renewable Energy Initiative have collaborated to provide contractors, students, and building trades people opportunities to gain hands-on experience in the energy efficiency and weatherization field. Tools and techniques learned in these courses will allow professionals to market themselves to a wider clientele by providing more detailed, energy specific services.

Short Term Courses/Housewarmings
As a way to increase homeowner knowledge and awareness of energy issues and ways to reduce costs, Plymouth Area Renewable Energy Initiative has created several hands-on experiences for neighbors and friends to help each other. These types of introductory level courses are called Housewarmings and any homeowner or interested individual can be part.
PAREI is also working on creating several short (1/2 to full day) trainings as a way to streamline and inform all parties involved in the energy efficiency/weatherization field from homeowner to contractor to building supply store.

The Plymouth Area Renewable Energy Initiative is offering Field Experiences to help individuals increase their experience with conducting Energy Audits and Energy Efficiency Related Services. Contractors, Building Supply Stores, Homeowners are encouraged to sign up and (1) job shadow and/or (2) assist a BPI certified Energy Auditor. Each month PAREI Energy Auditors conduct several Energy Audits and other Energy Related Services and would like to open these opportunities up to interested individuals. Each opportunity is open to one (1) person unless otherwise mentioned and is based on a first-come first-serve basis.

Energy Equipment Rental Program & Demos
Contractors, Property Managers, Hardware Store Employees, and DIY Homeowners can now take advantage of a great energy cost saving opportunity at Rand’s Hardware through the Energy Equipment Rental Program. This program will (1) help you get into the residential and business efficiency and weatherization field, (2) give you an ability to capitalize on business and homeowner requests for lower energy costs, and (3) reduce start-up costs.
